November 2020 - Poppy, Big panda and Tiny Dragon, & Commission news

I read some where that 1st November is the time every one starts saying "I cant believe its we're here already." Some how October just merges into September and Halloween is the focus.

Remembrance Sunday and 11/11/11 is very important to most of us, In Tides we like to honour this. This year, two of James Hyatt's poppies took stage in our shop window. This year though, our door was also decorated with a gorgeous large poppy by Fall Bows (fb Fall Bows - celebration door bows.)

In this way we donated to the British Legion, with poppy sales being down this year due to lock down and social gatherings not being possible, it is good to find a way to support them.

Exciting news that James Norbury's beautiful characters Big Panda and Tiny Dragon now feature in Tides Fine Art Gallery. We are very proud to exclusively offer these gorgeous prints on bamboo paper, hand signed by James.

The accompanying dialogue between calm comforting Panda and anxious dragon, both sides of our own personalities are so apt for current times especially.

We have 5 signed prints, framed and ready for purchase on display in the lovely tea room Pippins in Mumbles. However, if you'd like to reserve one or request a particular image then please get in touch on 07918733830, or via email tidesgallery@gmail.com

The first one sold prior to our official

announcement, so I think that if you'd like one for Christmas for your self or a loved one, then there is still time, but be quick to be certain.

Here they are in Pippins where Tides adorns their lovely light walls with our art work. Why not enjoy a home cooked meal or cake there in these cold weeks, such a lovely environment to enjoy.

One last announcement to be made in the post. The website now has an information page on commissions. Currently I am working on two large commissions - one based on the stunning view looking down towards Pwll Du bay, and the other a view from Llangenith towards Worms Head. Last month I completed a very large triptych focusing on the view across Swansea Bay from the West pier. This one I will post on fb and Instagram as soon as back from the framers, I'm excited to see the finished result, though a resin finish may be requested, for now the painting is "raw" so easier to photograph for sure.

Now fully booked up until early January, Please get in touch if you would like to discuss a bespoke piece just for you in the new year.

Stay Safe, and stay in touch, pop in if you can .

my very best wishes

Jo
